iMETOS weather stations

iMETOS® weather stations are universal devices that can be equipped with up to 80 sensors, depending on the design and your needs. They are sturdy, easy to mount and perfectly designed for a variety of different tasks in different climate zones.

They measure precipitation, soil moisture, wind speed, wind direction, atmospheric pressure, humidity, and temperature. Depending on the application, iMETOS® can be combined with a brightness sensor and monitoring units for leaf wetness, global radiation, surface temperature, etc. Set it up, switch it on, and it will run!

Water is a valuable asset not just in arid zones. That is why, in agriculture, the question often arises (and rightly so) whether water is used sensibly. Soil moisture provides the answer. It is the best proof of sensible water use. Based on soil moisture, water availability, and potential evaporation, irrigation can be optimised.

To monitor soil moisture, Pessl Instruments supplies you with iMETOS® monitoring stations that have been fitted with exactly the sensors you need for your purpose. iMETOS frost- and greenhouse monitoring

ightfrost often plays a desastrous game, especially at fruit growers and vegetable growers and in greenhouses. A frost can harm up to total loss. Imagine, that in the midth of march the heater in the greenhouse breaks down and temperature is sinking under the level of -6° C. A nightmare! Perhaps the insurance pays for the actual damage. But you can be sure, on long terms your loss is much higher, because as a result of crop failure you release market positions. Dangers of temperature are also lurking in mini-, micro- and plastics tunnels. Strawberry tunnels in best southern exposure promise a rich and early harvest. But these tunnels on the other side heat up easily. It´s a drama, when temperature in the tunnel is reaching more than 25° C, for then strawberries are loosing all their flowers. For all incidences of frost and heat we at Pessl Instruments have created spezial series of the well proven iMETOS® stations. According to the services we offer you get alerts in real time via SMS on your mobile phone, if frost or heat are threatening your cultures.

Precipitation data you can draw out of nearly every weather forecast. But nobody tels you, how much rain really has fallen on one of your fields. Therefore Pessl Instruments has developed the internet weather station iMETOS® rain. Sitting in front of a PC you can watch everytime the amount of precipitation on each of your fields. This weather station is delivering to you in combination with our internet services an accurate local weather forecast. Weather forecast and measuring of precipitation gives you better chances in senseful planning of machines and workers on your fields.
